Startitis Strikes Again

At least this Startitis involves using stash!

A long time ago, I made a sweater using MissionFalls 1824 wool. I didn’t know it at the time, I was coming back to really active knitting after a long stretch of sewing and seamstressing but, this was a highly sought after wool. I kept the bits and bobs, which were significant because the colours were so pretty.

During a Ravelry cleanup yesterday (had to pare down my queue – it was pushing 500 items!) I came across a great little pattern for a mitred blanket that is stash friendly and so here is the start of my “Mission Possible Blanket”.

Between this, and the other WIP’s that I have lurking about, I should be well occupied until Clue Three of the Peter Pan Shawl Mystery KAL arrives on Friday.

    • Oh Dear Lord No! I have so many WIP’s it’s ridiculous. A lot are design prototypes that I’m no longer in love with, some are just too old style-wise to bother and I need to reclaim the yarn. I have ADD and in my crafting, it’s a blessing and a curse! That queue was crazy! I’ve got it trimmed down to three hundred-ish. Much better. *snickers* 🙂

      • I had just topped the 500 mark and I know I’ll never get round to them. Some I had gone ahead and created a project (forgetting I can do that from queue) and others just don’t thrill me anymore. Anything over worsted weight went. I wish I had back that Burma Rings sweater to reclaim from! I gave it away and the Mission Falls company is no more. I’d love to keep working this blanket in the same yarn, it’s really nice stuff. Scouring the Ravelry ISO now!

      • “In Search Of” – there’s a whole board devoted to finding and selling (someone please buy some of my stash!) on Ravelry. What is your name over there? I should add you to my friends 🙂

      • Done 🙂 I had to break down and put mine on. It had reached a point that I forgot what I have. I’ve been knitting so long and sometimes fall heir to other’s stash. I’m really working at shopping mine and hoping someone will give a good home to the orphans I have for sale.

      • I think I need to put some of mine up. Need to get need homes for the little bit of yarn that comes from animals.
It makes my hands itchy 😦
Found out when I went to use the two balls of pure Australian merino that I scored. It felt so good til I started to itch

      • Rescued the yarn from a charity shop too, so it was really cheap.
I have started to develop some to animal hair fur. Always suffered from Hay fever.
Could be new meds I’m on and I can’t change them 😦
