Despite the sore throat, flying boogers, earache, temperature and general crappiness…
Yay! An FO for today 🙂
‘Not Over You Yet‘ is my 3rd ‘Over The Willamette’ and yes, I may have an obsession going on, hence the name for this project :). This is a great pattern, well written – something that’s still hit and miss with crochet patterns – and quick to work up. The second one, is finished but still needing blocking, something I’ll tackle when I’m feeling better.
This shawl was worked in KnitCircus Thrilling, a heavy fingering, silk merino blend and, having only one skein, I knew it would need mods. Nothing drastic, I went up a couple hook sizes to accommodate the yarn’s weight and knew in advance that I’d only get one border row in. After blocking, there’s no sacrifice in the overall size – the last two gallery photos show NOYY on top of my 1st version ‘Over The Rideau’ and they’re the same. OTR was also done on a larger hook than recommended – just my preference this time – for a lacier look. The more
narrower (hahaha! Yes I did that – meds must be working, lol!) border works well with the slightly more rustic look of the KnitCircus yarn I think and even better, there was no need to buy more yarn.
