Make It Monday ~ Late

I am introverting so hard the last few weeks – sorry for not being more interactive with everyone. Even posting feels like a chore lately.

I do have an FO. My ‘Gothic Starfish‘ afghan is finally finished and ready for gifting. Love the end result but so damn glad this is done! It started as a “let’s use this up” and quickly escalated to a “No-o-o-o! I need to buy more acrylic!” Anyway. It’s perfect for its new home and hopefully, I’ll have pix soon of this eclectic piece in its eclectic house.

I’m working on Le Scarabée Bleu and Brise d’été and loving them both. I can work in the back garden now – it’s tidy, old picnic table gone, shrubs shrubbing, flowers flowering and I have a pretty nook to sit at while I knit, hook and daydream – hence my absence from the Interwebs. I can’t recommend strongly enough unplugging, it’s such a gift!

Victoria Day weekend was amazing – more soul restoring with my Bestie and I’ve been getting my butt to the other side of town for ‘Sit ‘n Knit’ at my LYS, Yarn Forward. At this rate, I may even make it to Guild meetings!  I haven’t written a darn thing, nor do I miss it or care – not so much ‘writer’s block’ as ‘this writer don’t give a crap’ – so liberating! My books are still on Amazon and I don’t have to stress about the devolving of WordPress for poets and authors. More time to do the things that make me happy. Win!

I hope your summer is humming along beautifully and feel free to say hi on Ravelry or Instagram – I’m there more often because they’re ‘quick and dirty’ for posting 🙂

À plus tard!

  1. Reblogged this on The Eclectic Poet and commented:

    Hello Gang!
Hope you haven’t been wreckin’ the joint while I’m on sanity sabbatical! This post is from my small business blog ‘Pointe Shoes Punk Rock And Purl’.
Yup. Still alive and thoroughly enjoying my freedom – I recommend it for anyone suffering from blogging ennui!

  2. I kind of know where you are at. The last two months have been trying for me. I am going to give wordpress another two months to see if things change if not I will probably be closing down my wordpress and move on to something else. You sound so busy. Good on you. You have to do what you have to do. When you do post it is like picking up where we left off without missing a beat. Be well my friend. You have my support.

    • I wish I could give you the biggest hug right now – a virtual hug will have to do. My sense is that a WP vacation would really help to restore you. Not to leave entirely, you’re a great poet and WP would be the less for losing you. In my own case and perhaps yours, I felt pressured to post and interact and it was sending my Anxiety through the roof – mostly because Real Life (death of loved ones, personal and business relationships, et al) were suffering. You know my thoughts on how WP has become more a glorified dating site/popularity contest than a platform for constructive writing interaction – why read when you can just click? **sarcastic face**
I’m happier, calmer and so glad to be away from all the gossip, cliques and reminders of Peter. I’ll write again for sure but won’t allow it to become a chore or a ‘tit for tat LikeFest’.
Give me a shout anytime at my real person email or FB. I’m not always prompt these days but my ears are always available.
Take care dear JP, your support means more than you can know. ❤
