Friday, You’re My Favourite

Three FO’s this week, yay! “Le ScarabĂ©e Argent“, “Firefly
and “Harmonia’s Rings“.

All the details are on my Ravelry, at the links above. Hope all is well in your world with lots of time for family, friends, chillin’ and crafting đŸ™‚

So I Had This Weird Dream…

… that I was running an adoption agency for tribbles… đŸ˜‰

The novelty – and the silk mohair – is running its course. Not before I have a limited production run of two each of four unique yarn / colour combos of ‘Velloso’ cowls.

These are available for purchase now in my Etsy shop. Please take a peek and feel free to share.

Insert Catchy Title Here…

I think I’ve used that one before đŸ™‚

So… James Harris – the test knit edition is done and I think I’m good-to-go for the pattern write. I like this one and am looking forward to the second in the series, Carey Judson. There’s some Three Irish Girls yarn winging its way here for that project đŸ™‚

I gave in to my psych-out and started the MatinĂ©e II – small edition (Mystic Topaz) in some reclaimed Noro Kureyon Sock. I was exploring using some double knitting techniques for this but it’s so easy to do and my hope is that adventurous beginners as well as more experienced knitters will want to make this when it’s released… and not soon enough. I may need to start offering bribes for Test Knitters!

On the “been there, done that” front, I’m including an FO picture from a Raveller who just finished up a beautiful, gradient version of my “CarrĂ© Glace” pattern. I will never stop being excited anytime someone chooses to make a KeiB Designs pattern đŸ˜€

MatinĂ©e II ~ Finished

Carnelian (pattern: MatinĂ©e II) is off the needles đŸ™‚ I love the AlegrĂa by Manos del Uruguay and will definitely use it again. I don’t have the exact metres and grams yet; it is a little different from MatinĂ©e but that’ll come soon. Carnelian is the “large” version and the size variations are a nod to the two most standard put ups for sock and fingering yarns. The finished accessories come out to very similar dimensions due to the pattern differences.  I’m lagging a bit on getting the patterns finished but have high hopes for the rest of the day. Hope your day is wonderful đŸ™‚

Matinée II

It’s good to have options and so this is a variation on MatinĂ©e. There’ll be a faux lapped placket, perfect to show off handmade buttons or a special shawl pin. The construction is a tiny bit different from version I, perhaps even easier :).

Test knit is underway:

I’m really liking “shopping the stash”. Having to move x2 really brought home to me how quickly things accumulate! Organizing my stash so that it’s tidy but visible helped. I’d had things neatly packed in banker’s boxes in closets but out-of-sight doesn’t exist for me. Getting everything onto Ravelry was a huge help too. The “Stash” used to be much less functional, more like a catalogue. I remember when there wasn’t a place for the price… Now that you can cross-reference to your queue and new projects, it’s amazing how much I’ve been able to work through. How much I have left to go is another story for another day! đŸ˜‰

Make It Monday

Just a quickie. UCG Yorick is finished and “Blue Blob” has been beautified and is my new WIP of the week :):
