(say like: “Helloo… Newman” from Seinfeld; which I had to Google ’cause I never actually watched but am just a victim of popular culture!)
Taking the sting out of Mondays and can I get an Hallelujiah Chorus?! Why have I only just now found this amazing group on Ravelry??
Knot A Problem is a group on Ravelry that consists of Titans of Tangles. These folks will actually take that collapsed mess of lace shite that was created when your swift had a spazz or that cashmere that your cat thought would make a great date and they will… put it back to rights!
You heard that right.
You can send a mess to these First Responders of Fibre and they will fix, unknot, detangle your skein of useless, might as well be number 9 binder twine, anxiety inducing yarn.
I may be fangirling a little bit here.
I have a skein of Baruffa Cashwool Lace that decide to commit skein-icide as I was winding it for a shawl and a skein (OOAK colourway no less) of ZYG silk merino single that… well… I can’t speak of it… Verklempt.
I am going to be in touch with these miracle workers very soon to help me with what I thought was going to be birds’ nest liner (once I pitched a fit and pitched the lot).
Do go check them out if you have the same issues.
Wishing you all a gentle Monday 🙂
I may have to break up with you.
Like a Bad Boy boyfriend, you tempt me with your charm and good looks and every time I break down and take you back, you behave for a while and then wham! You let me down.
I’ve put up with three (or more!) knots in one $12.00 skein and your random bits of orange that show up in my pink colourways. I think I’ve been very tolerant of the bits of floor sweepings and the slivers caused by random bits of wood and sticks, even the ones that made me bleed and cuss. Really Noro, really?
Your new thing is to just break randomly as I am throwing you over a needle?
You, Bad Boy, have tested my limits. There are other variagated yarns you know and they would be happy to have my sexy Karbonz running through them!
So. Best behave through the rest of the knitting on these mitts are I’ll be turfing you into the bin and no amount of silk, mohair blandishment will convince me otherwi… Ooh, pretty colours…
Maybe just… one… more… skein… 😉
I’m having post-project let down after completing my Mayflower Shawlette. I know. I have elevnty-hundred WIP’s and a ridiculous amount of yarn but… Doing a little bit of photography and some writing until my yarn muse sings something I want to hear.
I did order this pattern keeper for knitting on the go. Slipped Stitch Studios has some of the cutest project bags and accessories. I want the entire Crazy Caveleras line! They even have snips on a wristlet – could double as a key chain – that are airplane approved.
This is going to make travelling with a pattern so much easier!
We are off to explore. It’s a misty, warm morning, the rain is still making up it’s mind whether or not to fall. Perfect for some moody and romantic photo opportunities. Or, maybe just hanging out at a coffee shop
Cheers all, Kei
Ha ha ha!!
Oh yes. I’m a VERY good knitter. Very experienced.
Knitted my circular stitch marker into a cable…
