A little here, a little there. Verra busy lately!
Will be a Matinée Scarf in some Noro Silk Garden sock and some Manos del Uruguay silk blend. Some fiery colours to warm up a snowy winter.
I’ll be hitting the publish button on ‘Velloso‘, my first pattern release for 2016 in a few hours and hope that you’ll take a moment to peek and ‘<3’ on Ravelry. Velloso will be the next KeiB Design to be available at Yarn Forward, my LYS.
The last couple weeks were filled with family activities, lots of of knitting, a little crochet and liberal quantities of friends and wine! My first great-niece arrived and I gifted her with a wee pink crochet beanie (free pattern courtesy of Deja Jetmir). It was on and off my hook and then gifted so quickly, I don’t have a photo! The yarn was a very old Lucky Lurker ‘Duets’ in a semi-solid pink mix. I also had enough yarn left from each of the Velloso cowls that I mentioned in previous posts to make four more and to pop them up for sale in my Etsy shop.
Keeping me busy between finishing my Leventry-tini shawl this AM and beginning my first 2016 project tonight is ‘Cerys‘, a modular, hexi baby blanket that I’ve started in some leftover mini mochi. I suspect this will go on forever, like my ‘Mission Possible‘ blanket – for which I’m still looking for yarn if you have any – as I’ve enough stash and leftovers to open two shops!
Last and not least here is a link to my page ‘Finished Projects 2015‘. I’m super happy with what did get done, not gonna sweat the ton of WIP’s still lurking and toast to having stuck to my plan to ‘shop the stash’ as often as I could 🙂
Wishing you and yours all the health, happiness, peace and prosperity that 2016 holds. Tomorrow is a new day in a new year. Let’s make every single one count ❤
Never too early to begin with your Christmas, Etc. gift making 🙂
You can find Matinée II, my latest scarf pattern, with a cowl option, at the link below and please feel free to add me on Ravelry (KarinB) or to join the PSPRP group on Ravelry.
Well, perhaps a little some some… it IS WIP Wednesday so here’s a peek at a prototype. A very naughty prototype – math, yarn types, math, three false starts and math, made me think this one didn’t want to be made but it’s creeping along now:
A little blue with the unmistakeable change in the air that signals the end of summer and the quick and inevitable transition to winter. Our autumn here doesn’t last very long or I might enjoy it more.
Sharing a collage piece,”Kei’s Five Beautiful Things” that I post regularly on my poetry blog, The Eclectic Poet from what was the last true week of summery goodness. Sometimes, I need to remind myself that there are always reasons to smile.
(In it’s entirety from the original post):
In this instant I am perfectly, completely happy.
These are the things that stopped me – if only for a moment – to really appreciate that moment, in joy, humour, wonder… Five beautiful things.
2 September 2015
I was beavering away at this and more than ever need a love slave for my hands! This is my Manos del Uruguay version of “Filigree” and the one that I hope will be displayed at the LYS by week’s end. It’s a completely different look and feel in the merino silk blend v. the alpaca rayon. The stitches really pop in this base! I really love them both 🙂
Filigree has garnered a little interest from the folks at Berroco and hopefully, I’ll be able to tell a bit more in the coming weeks. Back to the grind to get a couple more samples done for both the LYS and the Needler’s Retreat 2015. I’m in like Flynn! So totally stoked and a little nervous too but I’ll be there with a bunch of wonderful ladies so… onward with the knitting. Next up a Cloche in some yummy shawl leftovers and the icy coolness of a Matinée in my new YvieKnits.
I’ve been missing some of the regulars here. Once in a blue, I see in Stats that you pop by to visit – please feel free to say “hello” and know you’re missed when not around. I’m on Instagram and FB too for those that prefer to connect there.
And presenting M’amselle in her new Fino Filigree:
I had to!
LCC was in process for so long, I was glad to see the end of it when I published the pattern. This was just before I revamped my style sheets with a better layout, more visually appealing font and photos and what I hope is a better format in general to work from.
My BFF, has been knitting this as a store sample for our LYS and asked me for some clarifications the last time I popped in for knitting and sushi – make those sticks do double duty! Kidding :p
Based upon her questions, I opted to reknit the blasted thing, hence “Hellz Bellz” and you’re welcome for the ACDC earworm! I’ve wound up making some tweaks that I think greatly improve the pattern, specifically in how it reduces finishing a lot and I added a finishing option that makes this design Unisex as well.
The redux will be available very shortly (purchased updated automatically via Ravelry) and will include this variation “Plum Delphiniums” below and some updated photos of the prototype and test knit:
