Make It Monday!

Last one of 2013 and so I tried a little harder to have something to post. I’m so happy with the amount of knitting I got done this year. It’s true that the rhythm of the needles can provide music for the soul and mine certainly needed it. The last two years have been a little chaotic for me personally and knitting is an amazing stand in for a therapist at times!

And so, the knitting… I finished up the first Noro Bias Lace Scarf:

Although I love the pattern and the Noro Kureyon sock colours, it still feels like binder twine while being knit and that’s why this project kept getting pushed to the back burner for others.

I also finished another “Straggler” project, my Bellydance! Socks:

Unblocked (of course! I wouldn’t block socks anyway unless gifting) and forgive the terrible lighting – I’ve just finished and it’s evening here as I do my update.

Wanted: Another Pair Of Hands

Either that or the willpower to not begin new projects before I finish old ones!

So, the WIP’s that I ‘fess up to – there are others in my work room – Moorland and Dahlia cardis are coming along nicely. I hope to have Moorland to the shoulder seaming by the end of the year. Dahlia got a lot of love this weekend and I’m in the home stretch of stocking stitch to finish the left front.

Noro Bias Scarf and Bellydance! Socks (Jingle socks) are seeing some progress but I’m tempted to hide them in the workroom too! The thrill has worn off and they aren’t for gifts so… I started something new.

I’m working the Morlynn Shawl in a combination of Lang Mille Colori Sock & Lace and Cascade Heritage Sock. I’ve renamed this the Tandoori Tikka Tumeric Shawl for the colours – way outside my comfort zone usually but these ones together are beautiful I think.

These are the skeins, no progress photo just yet. I’m into section A and have done the calculation (gasp! I did!) to make it a little larger and use up the maximum amount of yarn from each.

Progress photo tomorrow and hopefully at least one finished project – the socks and scarf are so close to done!

WIP It Good

There are so many projects I’d like to finish before the end of the year. My perpetual Startitis really makes that difficult at times. I’ve been making a concerted effort to get through some of these older projects and if I do break down and start something new – and who can resist casting on a new yarn purchase right away? – I’m finishing it. Pipe down inner teenager…

Here are a couple that are now in the home stretch:

And this is what’s really inspiring me to get them done quick :):

Moorland Cardigan

I started this cardigan quite some time ago and it wound up tucked away during my move. The recent unpacking, tidy and following Ravelry update unearthed a few almost forgotten projects and I think I’ve fallen in love again. Feeling very inspired to wrap up the scarf and socks and then tackle the rest of Moorland. Crossing my fingers that I can duplicate the tension!

Have a wonderful Wednesday All!
