The week brought a little of this, a little of that, much knitting and pencil chewing over a new design. I planned a little for my first vending event and did a tiny bit of shopping and finished two books.
Here’s a little gathering of “the things”:
Pier1 All Hallows 2015 ~ 3
Pier1 All Hallows 2015 ~ 2

Pier1 Skullies and Beads
Hoping your week was happy and productive and wishing you a great weekend 🙂
Picture above taken at the Trash Menagerie exhibit at the Peabody-Essex museum in Salem MA. Sculpture out of recycled knitted sweaters… Too Cool!
So… no FO pictures. Still just a multitude of WIP-age making me feel guilty.
Short note: Health, work, stuff… has been putting a massive dent in my knitting time. Lot’s of new ideas for designs but need some time to get that together.
Hopefully, I’ll have some new stuff up on Ravelry soon.
In the meantime; there is a need for destash
. Lots of new yarn available on my Trade/Sale page on Ravelry and more will be added on a continual basis, as we downsize and get things manageable for me. I will be sneaking in knitting accessories when I can (all new) and hoping to put up reams of counted cross stitch kits, threads, beads, etc. here on the blog. Counted cross being my pre-knitting poison :)!
Hope to have some pictures of the shawl progress soon. There are three, all so close to off the needles. Now that I remember how to do a post, I just may get them up here.
Happy knitting all and hope this finds you all well.
ETA: Cedar Leaf Shawlette is off the needles! First FO of 2010. (Some of you are thinking “it’s about time”, LOL!) Picture over in my gallery
(Picture Gone – This bit of Stash is gone 🙂 !)
I have spent the last couple of weeks transferring the entire contents of my “sewing room” from the basement to an upstairs bedroom. I cannot believe how much yarn I have. Or counted cross stitch supplies. Or fabric and notions. I am utterly overwhelmed by my crafting addictions :(.
At one point (a LOW point) I had stuff in the old sewing room, our recroom, the new sewing room and my daughter’s bedroom (a large part of it – thank goodness she’s in Brooklyn for a few more weeks). So… the new room is more or less functional, DD’s room emptying slowly and the old room, despite still housing two (!) sewing desks and some orphan collectibles looks much larger :).
It has lead to the realization that, I need to pare down some of this stuff. I am donating the sewing items to friends and have no idea what to do with the cross stitch stuff. Like the knitting, I went whole hog with it – linen, silk, swarovski beads. I couldn’t get through a day without putting a few stitches in fabric. Now, not so much. Ebay, I guess. It’s where I got a lot of this stuff.
I’m skimming yarn as I put it away and anything that I’m not really happy to see unburied is in a box awaiting “Destash” or gifting.
Oh and the knitting (another handy way to get rid of yarn – heavy irony). Talula is coming along beautifully, although I admit to a love / hate relationship with Noro. And the Kiri shawl is about five repeats from finished – no picture, all shawls just look like the same blob until they’re off the needles and blocked. I’ve just finished the deep rib on my Twisted-V, it’s a quick knit and loving the Fiesta yarn :).
Other than the little bit done on these projects, it’s pretty much been all Ravelry, all the time in my house. I continue to be aghast, ashamed, astounded at how much yarn I’ve socked (ha-ha) away…. and the books too! I find more of everything, including long lost needles and patterns, accessories, gifts with purchases, the family cat – not really :)… I know some people don’t want to do their stash tallies for Ravelry, but I’m finding it very useful. I can now open my own online shop and get rid of some of this stuff, ’cause I think I’m already in the Top Ten of “She Who Dies With The Most Yarn Wins”!
