As Yet Unnamed Crochet Scarf

Yes. Yes, I AM crazy to be doing any knitting or crocheting in this weather but… the urge to create overcomes all!
I still unwilling to give up my “Queen of Procrastination” title though, so these are WIP’s and likely to remain so until cooler temps prevail 🙂
ETA: Yarn Pr0n! My latest installment of the Victorian Writer’s Club kits arrived and it is fantastic! And the unnamed scarf has been dubbed “Pining For The Fjords”, ya know – Madeline Tosh Sock in “Fjord”… Monty Python… 🙂

The Blues

Moorland Cardigan by Pointe Shoes Punk Rock And Purl Pix
Moorland Cardigan, a photo by Pointe Shoes Punk Rock And Purl Pix on Flickr.Looking forward to starting this. I’ve had it queued forever! I’m using Classic Elite “Moorland” in Baliol Blue, a gorgeous heathered alpaca, mohair, merino.
Speaking of blue, Bluesfest opens this week here in Ottawa. Always a good time, so many great acts to choose from. The Black Keys and Peter Frampton are on my “must see” list this year.
Something to chase away The Blues: Just Knitting sneak peak of the new store. Can’t wait! Great location, great management and plenty of fibre temptation. I’m tempted to beg for a part time job there! A Knit Night is always a good remedy for work week blues. Had an awesome mini stitch ‘n bitch with my Besties last night. No world issues were solved but some significant yardage was worked!
Leaving you with a glimpse of blue that is good for the soul:

Cheers All!

Citron Shawlette

OK. Yup. I admit it. Got the attention span of a goldfish :). So, I was running errands Sunday and my route took me past my LYS, Yarn Forward. My GF Francine – Francine of “Fancy That” shawl pins – was working, so an impromptu “Sit ‘N Knit” ensued. I couldn’t knit the sundries I picked up, so allowed myself to be talked into a skein of Noro Sekku – yummy! – and sat down to start “Citron“. In fairness, “Citron” WAS queued on Ravelry… I am… following through… ;-). I’ve been knitting on the bus and into the wee hours, it’s so addictive and easy! A beginner with skillz could do this.

The Creative Process…

I had made a couple “Fibre Resolutions” earlier this year. One being to get back at the design work. It’s been a very long time since the last KeiB Designs release. I am the Queen Of Procrastination, with a healthy sprinkle of ADHD and big time OCD.
Call me anal, I can take it 🙂 Although I prefer perfectionist, lol!
So, my LG “Solo” purchase of yesterday was calling me. Never mind that I have sock yarn in waiting that’s I bought …. years ago. I didn’t want to use an existing pattern, so sat down with my notebook and my Harmony Guide “Cables & Arans” to see what happened.
Several coffees and much online discussion of the “Supermoon Efffect” later… Voila! I have a cuff. I’m futzing with something that won’t bore me to tears or detract from the colour runs in the “Solo” and liking it so far.

The Creative Process... Part 2

Florentina Progress

Slow but sure… it’s been hard getting back to the cold, harsh reality of winter in Ottawa after our “Honeymoon”. Getting back in the swing now. Hmm… Guild this coming Monday and some rocking good times with a few friends. A hint of Spring in the air this morning as I walked down to my LYS, Yarn Forward in Kanata. Of course, that called for a celebratory skein of Lana Grossa Solo :-), a Ravelry update and now, must organize patterns. I need an assistant to deal with all the fibre-y goodness I have kicking around here…
