Karin’s Jewellery

I don’t make jewellery often, usually it’s for a particular ceremony or occasion. I only use natural materials, hand-punch holes for stringing in leather and bead using traditional motifs Just the one photograph at the moment, I’ll try to round up a few more.

A ceremonial choker and earing set. Bone beads, abalone shell, turquoise and sterling beads. Beaded kagwet design on earings. Bone, lapis and sterling dangle earings. The sun face pin is a Hopi piece that I lucked into at a flea market.

I am teaching myself quillwork, a traditional Mik’maq adornment and hope to have something made soon.
